The Care Quality Commission demanded the trust improve. It comes after a report found that the trust had failed to investigate the deaths of hundreds of patients.

Geoff Hill, who is campaigning for the governors to sack chief executive Katrina Percy, said: ‘The Mazars review found a four-year failing in leadership and governance and that was six months ago and they’re still hanging on.

‘At Queen Alexandra Hospital they had a serious report from the CQC but by the time it was published the chief executive had gone and there was a new chief executive.

Interim chairman Tim Smart said Ms Percy would not be sacked.

The meeting at 2pm on Tuesday is at Public Service Plaza in Civic Centre Road, Havant.
