Head teacher Emma Steele said: ‘I am very proud of the progress the children have made, and our approach to learning science skills.’

The students say they have had lots of opportunities to get stuck into the world of science.

Tyler Trotman from Year 6 said: ‘We do lots of fantastic science at our school. I enjoyed going to Land Rover BAR HQ in Portsmouth and finding out about all the work the scientists and engineers do when designing and testing the boats.’

Kaitlyn Jones, also from Year 6, added: ‘We took part in the BBC Terrific Scientific project. It was really good, it got all of us working together. We found out if the water in our area was soft or hard and we did an investigation on our taste buds.’
