Purbrook Park School makes history at MOVE IT Dance event

Last weekend, Move It returned to London ExCeL for three days of outstanding dance. Widely recognised as the world’s largest dance event, MOVE IT brings together leading colleges and performance groups from across the globe. The event also offers hundreds of dance classes, alongside exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities with industry figures such as Abby Lee Miller.
Lead Teacher of Performing Arts at Purbrook Park School, Amy Taylor said, “I am incredibly honoured that we were the first secondary school ever to perform on the main stage. Dance in education is so important; it equips pupils with valuable transferable skills they can carry with them throughout their lives. Our students truly held their own alongside some of the best dancers in the industry and had the most incredible experience.”
Performer Jayden Harris added, “The atmosphere was electric, and I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other team. I have been attending MOVE IT for years so to get the opportunity to dance on the main stage is a moment I will treasure forever".
