Portsmouth High School children travel back in time to the age of the dinosaurs
PUPILS have travelled 65m years back in time to the age of the dinosaurs in a workshop.
Children in the Portsmouth High School prep school took part in the ‘Life Long Ago’ workshop and even got to meet Sophie the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Pupils took part in a fossil hunt, where they had to locate and identify fossils from some of the most iconic dinosaurs of the past.
They also learnt many interesting facts about the different species that once roamed the planet.

The workshops, which were run by outside education agency the Education Group, also incorporated the use and development of literacy and numeracy skills.
Children also had the opportunity to meet a baby Velociraptor and Triceratops which headteacher Paul Marshallsay said ‘certainly made an impact across the school with both pupils and teachers’.
He added: ‘The day was a truly dynamic interactive learning experience. The children were certainly enthused by real hands-on learning and a topic truly brought to life in a memorable way.’
Head of early years, Victoria Fabre de la Grange, said: ‘These out of the classroom learning experiences truly make the day one to remember and ignite and engage the pupil on many levels.’
