Plenty of national pride on show at Gosport school's celebration
Children and parents from Haselworth Primary School, Gosport celebrated St George's Day and the Queen's birthday in style last week
The event began with children, staff and parents joining in with a hearty rendition of the national anthem in honour of the Queen.

The children performed a traditional English country dance, sang a song, recited a poem, and retold the story of St George with puppets.
The Great Haselworth Bake Off was a huge success and Mrs Hall, the school cook, had a huge dilemma when deciding on the prize-winning cakes because the standard was so high.

She said: ‘Even Mary Berry would have struggled to choose a winner.’
Eventually after much deliberation siblings Alexis, in Year 6, and Alison, in Year 3, were crowned overall winners.
Alexis said: ‘I loved making the cake but I didn’t like tidying the kitchen afterwards.’
Martina, in Year 6 said: ‘I was really out of breath after dancing the St George’s Reel. Country dancing is a good way to keep fit.’

Aimie Williams, chair of governors said: ‘We were very pleased to have so many parents joining us to celebrate such an important date in the English calendar.
‘As a school we feel it is important to promote fundamental British values in a way that appeals to both children and adults in our community.’
