Pupils are delighted by the upgrade

Pupils at a Waterlooville school are celebrating thanks to an upgrade of its playground facilities.

Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton Division has donated materials and resources to further enhance the safety and play experience to the pupils at Hart Plain Infant School in Cowplain.

The housebuilder has installed brand new fencing, making breaktime safer for its pupils and improving its facilities.

The school’s headteacher Sharon Peckham said: “Our children asked to see some new play equipment, and Barratt David Wilson Homes helped us make it happen. We’re a small school so it can be challenging raising funds for what we want to achieve.

“Our playground is looking brilliant and we couldn’t have done it without Barratt’s support.”

Part of an ongoing renovation project, Barratt first stepped in to support the school back in 2024 with a £5,000 cash boost and resources to install a pink play castle, matting and a slide. The donation was part of the housebuilder’s commitment to improving and enhancing the communities in which they build.

Marketing Manager at Barratt, Megan Hamlyn, said: “It’s been great to work with Hart Plain Infant School once again to help it upgrade its facilities. The castle really brought some new colour and life to the playground, and now we’re giving it those finishing touches.”

Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton Division is currently building homes across Hampshire including Pebble Walk in Hayling Island and Forest Walk in Whiteley.
