Penny Mordaunt: Former Portsmouth MP going on popular Channel 4 programme tomorrow evening - who else is on the show?

A former Portsmouth MP is appearing on a popular panel show tomorrow evening, according to the TV guide.

Tomorrow (Friday, March 6) will see The Last Leg return to our screens once again. Usual suspects Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker will be on hand to discuss the week’s news, which will inevitably include the ongoing conflict with Iran, Brewdog going into administration and perhaps something on the Chinese spying fiasco.

Joining them on the sofa will be comedians Nick Mohammed and Vittorio Angelone - plus a very familiar face to Portsmouth locals.

Former Portsmouth North MP Penny Mordaunt is the final guest on tomorrow’s show. The ex-Conservative politician, who served as both defence secretary and minister for women and equalities.

She was ousted from her seat in the 2024 general election, replaced by the Labour Party’s Amanda Martin.

Since then, Ms Mordaunt has written a book called Pomp and Circumstance: Why Britain’s Traditions Matter, started working with British American Tobacco, and supports the Team Lewis Foundation - which helps charitable causes reach their goals.

Last month, she also hit out at the government’s “infuriating” approach to defence spending, with Royal Navy destroyer HMS Dragon currently sat in Portsmouth Harbour, due to set sail soon for Cyprus as the Middle East conflict escalates.

At the time of publication, Ms Mordaunt - who is frequently active on social media - has not mentioned anything about her upcoming TV appearance.

The Last Leg will be broadcast from 10pm on Channel 4 tomorrow night.
