Wreath making smiles!

On a cold and frosty morning this week, members of Stokes Bay WI gathered at the studio of ‘Jen Creates’ in Hardway, Gosport, to make Christmas wreaths.

To get us in the festive mood, Jen produced hot drinks and warm mince pies while she explained and demonstrated the initial process. From an array of greenery including yew, fir, eucalyptus, rosemary and ivy, she quickly transformed a circle of floristry oasis into a green cushion, the basis of the wreath.

Tentatively at first, we cut and placed our greenery as shown. The transformations began and we grew in confidence, looking for gaps and shaping the cushion.

Jen then showed us how to create and place the added extras, bows of wired ribbon, rose buds, cones, nuts and shiny berries.

We started with the same ingredients but the results are all so different.

As you can see, we are all very proud of our wreaths thanks to Jen which will adorn our doors or dining tables for the festive season.
