The Book of Mook has it's origins in Portsmouth's city centre during 1993, when the author, Philip Wyatt, began to study Information Technology at a Learning Centre called Portsmouth ITeC, at the tender age of 17.
It was there in the ITeC, where Philip met a strange and enigmatic fellow student called Mark Bartlett who started telling him some bizarre and humorous fantasy stories about creatures called 'mookeys'. Becoming enthralled, Philip grabbed a pen and paper and began to dictate the stories which flowed from Marks' mouth to the page and, over the year long course, were finally typed up and printed out.
Many years later, after rediscovering and reading through the pages again, Philip was reminded of their brilliance and got back in touch with Mark online, only to find lots more stories were waiting for him to be dictated.
Following an extended hiatus, Philip was shocked and saddened to learn that Mark had passed away. This reinforced his compulsion to finish the book in Marks memory, with the blessing of his widow.
The book is releasing on the 22nd August worldwide on Amazon in Ebook, Paperback and Hardback formats, a blend of Marks fantasy fables and the real story of the authors life in and around Portsmouth, including some dangerous forays into the Tircorn Centre!
