After eight months of supporting local residents on their weight-loss journeys, Slimming World consultant Sarah is preparing to open the doors to a brand new chapter.

Her friendly and successful Wednesday group, previously based at the Nimrod Community Centre in Rowner, is moving to a new home — the Alverstoke Scout Hut HQ on Clayhall Road (PO12 2BY).

The group will relaunch with a brand new session onMonday 23rd March at 7:15pm, and interest is already buzzing, with fifteen new members eager to join from day one.

Sarah’s passion for helping others comes from her own remarkable transformation. Over the past three years, she has lost seven and a half stone, purely by following the Slimming World plan. “I’ve always had a serious sweet tooth,” she laughs, “and Slimming World absolutely caters for that. I’ve learned so many clever, satisfying ways to enjoy the foods I love while still losing weight every single week.” It’s this lived experience — the cravings, the challenges, the triumphs — that makes her such a relatable and motivating consultant.

Her members are already seeing life-changing results. One reached her personal target weight just last week, while two others achieved such significant weight loss that their doctors were able to move them higher up the waiting list for hip operations. Both have since had their surgeries and continue to lose weight “beautifully,” Sarah says — a testament to the power of support from like-minded people, encouragement and sustainable lifestyle change.

Each group session offers more than just a weigh-in. Members enjoy an uplifting, informative evening focused on behaviour change, confidence building, and practical skills — from smart shopping to simple, healthy cooking. “It’s all about creating habits that last a lifetime,” Sarah explains. “We talk, we learn, we laugh and we support each other every step of the way.”

Slimming World has also introduced exciting updates to its plan since January, reflecting the latest scientific research in health and nutrition. These changes have added even more flexibility and variety, making it more accessible — and enjoyable — than ever. “If someone has tried Slimming World before,” Sarah says, “they haven’t tried it like this.”

With a new venue, a growing community, and a consultant who truly understands the journey from the inside out, Sarah’s Alverstoke group is set to become a vibrant hub for anyone ready to take that first step toward better health.
