PS&B Achieves 200 Acts of Kindness in Our 200th Year

As PS&B approaches the end of 2025, the company is proud to announce it has officially achieved its goal of completing 200 Acts of Kindness, marking a major milestone in its bicentenary year.
Launched in January, the 200 Acts of Kindness campaign was created to celebrate PS&B’s 200th anniversary while giving back to the communities that have supported the business since its founding in 1825.
Throughout the year, colleagues across the company have come together to support a wide range of local causes and initiatives, alongside dedicated fundraising and awareness activity in support of the company’s chosen Charities of the Year: Phoenix Rehoming, My Sisters' House, The Clock Tower Sanctuary and St Barnabas House. Colleagues volunteered their time and efforts throughout the campaign to help make a positive and lasting difference.
PS&B was founded in 1825 by Joseph Parsons, who began trading as an auctioneer from 96 North Street in Brighton. Two centuries on, the business has grown into a trusted and well established regional name, with offices now located in Brighton, Portsmouth and Bognor Regis.
What began as a bold commitment has become one of the most meaningful initiatives in PS&B’s history. Supported by colleagues across PS&B and other brands within the Blue Bombini Group, including Spratt & Son, Carr & Priddle and Lease X, the campaign has showcased the goodwill, energy and compassion shared across teams, alongside a collective commitment to making a positive impact.
Surpassing 200 Acts of Kindness
Throughout 2025, teams across the business delivered a wide range of impactful initiatives, helping PS&B not only meet but exceed its original goal. Environmental efforts included the planting of 21 trees to welcome new starters, six beach cleans, and 11 blood donations made by colleagues.
Hands-on community support remained a key focus, with 32 volunteering days dedicated to charity events, community projects and causes close to colleagues’ hearts. The business also donated IT equipment to local organisations, helping to improve digital access and support day-to-day operations.
In addition, teams organised eight book donation drives alongside ongoing collections of food, toiletries, clothing and recyclable materials. Seasonal fundraising activities throughout Easter, Halloween and Christmas further brought colleagues together and made a significant contribution to the campaign’s success.
Collectively, these efforts enabled PS&B to surpass its original target, achieving an outstanding 210 Acts of Kindness during its landmark bicentenary year.
Karen Baker, Chief Business Development Officer, said: ‘Reaching 200 Acts of Kindness in our bicentennial year is more than a milestone, it’s a reflection of who we are. What began as an ambitious pledge has become one of the most inspiring chapters in PS&B’s long history. I’m immensely proud of our teams across Brighton, Portsmouth, Bognor Regis, and Worthing whose commitment, compassion and community spirit helped us surpass our goal and deliver 210 meaningful acts. Our partnerships with local charities and the dedication shown by colleagues remind us that when we come together with purpose, we can make a lasting difference.’
Looking Forward
Reaching 200 Acts of Kindness marks the conclusion of the campaign, but not the end of PS&B’s commitment to making a positive difference. The values and momentum created through this initiative will continue into 2026 and beyond, as the business explores new ways to support local causes, charities and communities across the region.
Here’s to another century of kindness, collaboration and community.
