It’s Back: Portsmouth’s E-Waste Amnesty Week Returns, 10–17 January 2026

Portsmouth residents are being encouraged to clear out unwanted electrical items during E-Waste Amnesty Week, running from Saturday 10th to Saturday 17th January 2026.
The annual initiative helps people responsibly recycle, donate, sell, or repair small electrical items, keeping them out of landfill and giving them a second life.
Whether it’s leftover gadgets from Christmas, old phones hiding in drawers, or broken small kitchen appliances, residents can use the interactive map to find convenient locations across the city where they can:
- Donate working electrical items to support local charities
- Sell unwanted tech and earn some extra cash
- Repair small electricals to extend their life
- Recycle items that are broken or beyond repair

“It only takes around 10 minutes to gather your unwanted tech and make a real difference,” said Clare Seek, CEO of Share (Portsmouth) who run the annual event. “E-Waste Amnesty Week is a simple way for Portsmouth residents to reduce waste, support charities, and promote a circular economy in the city.”
“Many residents have shared concerns with us—whether it’s how to erase personal data, recover photos from devices that no longer turn on, or simply what to do with various items. We hope the map will help, and we’ll also be sharing tips and ideas on our social channels throughout the week to address these questions.”
