Housing staff chip in for charity at annual golf day to raise more than £10,000
A children’s hospice in Winchester has been supported by a housebuilder who raised more than £11,000 at a fundraising golf day in the city.
Basingstoke-based Miller Homes Southern held its annual corporate golf day at South Winchester Golf Club last month (September), with all funds received from the event going directly to Naomi House & Jacksplace, the housing firm’s chosen charity of the year.
The hospice, located in Sutton Scotney, provides specialist care to help enhance the shortened lives of children who will not reach adulthood, while also providing opportunities to families to make the most of their time with children.
Miller Homes raised a total of £11,152 for the charity at the golf event, which was supported by its supply chain, with prizes from individual and team events on the day awarded by Naomi House, who were invited by the housebuilder.

Ella Clayton, senior fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: “It was lovely to be invited by Miller Homes to its recent golf day at South Winchester Golf Club, and it was a really proud moment to see the Naomi House flags flying across the course during the day.
“We have been very fortunate to work with Miller Homes this year on several fundraising events, and the money it is raising for the hospice is going towards valuable nursing care for young people across the region. We extend our thanks once more to everyone who attended the golf day.”
Miller Homes has committed to a year-long partnership with Naomi House, fundraising for the charity through a programme of activity planned throughout the calendar year, including the golf day in Winchester.
David Brown, managing director of Miller Homes Southern, said: “Miller Homes is very proud of its track record for supporting the community, and it has been our privilege to raise funds for Naomi House, a hospice who provide incredible care to children from across our community.
“I’m very proud of the wider Miller team and our supply chain in their efforts, who have taken part in numerous activities of fundraising this year, collectively raising in excess of £19,000 to help support Naomi House & Jacksplace.
