Hayling care home celebrates national activity providers and professionals week

Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island is known as a warm and welcoming place, but also as a caring, active care home.
There is something to do when that is what you seek and calm serenity when that is what you need. Purposeful lives are led and happiness results.
So, you or your loved one has an energy or interest level that dictates preference and needs can change daily; at times feeling ‘up for it’ and at others ‘happy to sit still’. Whether indeed you or they are a social butterfly who prefers to be up and about or whether you like your own company and the occasional foray into activities, Wimborne will ‘get you’. A great deal of time and effort is spent getting to know residents and understanding the individual.
In this week of celebrating Activity providers and professionals Wimborne would like to take a moment to celebrate and appreciate their incredible team. (Whilst there is a whole team approach to everything at Wimborne, these are the ladies in pink for whom the job title almost includes the word fun!).

Wimborne has a Senior Activities Lead Zoe Freeman, an experienced dancer who enjoyed a career travelling the world and entertaining on cruise liners before dropping anchor at her beloved Wimborne. Zoe is known for her mega watt smile, her infectious energy and enthusiasm, her incredible care, skill and dedication for the Wimborne residents. Also in the activities team is Kerry Brown, a fabulous warm, friendly and highly skilled lady, she is crafty and creative and inspires many residents to create and enjoy the process.
Each day is different and whilst there are some ‘real favourite’ crowd pleasing activities there are times when discoveries and passions, hobbies and interests lead to a range of options to be enjoyed. The activities team know, nurture, explore and maximise this and Wimborne are so grateful to them and delighted to have this opportunity to publicly applaud their hard work!
For this week of ‘National Activity Providers and professional week Stephen Stace, Peri General Manager of Wimborne commented: “We are proud and delighted of our exceptional Activities Team here at Wimborne, they help to make every day special for our residents and that is really what we aim to do!’
Wimborne care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Wimborne provides residential and dementia care for 47 residents from respite care to long term stays.
