This week on Wednesday 21st January Denmead Grange Care Home was delighted to welcome Chloe Saunders from Larcomes Legal Limited.

The special event was ‘Financial planning for later life’ and covered topics like Power of Attorney, Wills and Estate management, the range of support options available and how to finance long term care. For some families attendance allowance is still something they are unaware of and the council tax discounts that come with that.

For others, learning that attendance allowance is still paid for anyone who is self financing their care – at home or in a residential placement – is a welcome surprise.

Families visiting Denmead Grange remark on how very helpful the team is at talking them through the process of assessment but the talk was of great value to those at every stage of a ‘later life’ journey. Life doesn’t come with a guidebook and this was a step towards clarity and calm, knowledge as is often said, is power.

Having a trusted information source can take some of the stress away and Denmead Grange is happy to help provide and facilitate with learning, for all. Whatever the circumstances the well established and experienced team at Denmead Grange are here to help, to support in those conversations and to share information, experience and advice.

General Manager Abbie Johnston said: ‘It was wonderful to have Chloe back in, Denmead Grange is happy to host such valuable discussions!’
