Community Kettle in Cosham, a volunteer‑led community hub nestled on Cosham High Street, has unveiled its new Feed Your Belly Breakfast Club, designed to support residents with free, nutritious breakfasts each weekday morning.

Running Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 9am, the club offers both sit‑down and grab and go breakfasts to ensure no one in the community starts their day hungry. The initiative currently funded by the Partnership Foundation - Portsmouth and part of Community Kettles Warm Welcoming campaign enables the team to provide nutritious meals completely free of charge (although donations are greatly appreciated).

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, especially for young people and families facing financial pressure. A comforting breakfast can improve concentration, mood, and energy levels, helping people begin their day with stability and dignity. For many who attend, it’s not just about the food — it’s about having a safe, welcoming place to land before school, work, or daily challenges.

Volunteer Kimmie Elliott sees the impact every morning: “You can tell when someone hasn’t eaten. A hot breakfast changes everything — people leave here brighter, calmer, and ready for the day. It’s amazing what a simple meal can do.”

Community Kettle is encouraging residents to help spread the word so that anyone who needs a breakfast this winter— young people, families, workers, or those simply struggling — knows they are welcome.

Food. Warmth. Belonging. Right here in Cosham.
