Bere Grove Care Home, Gales Rise, Horndean, is inviting members of the local community to attend an informative and supportive talk on ‘Eating Well with Dementia’ on Thursday 22 January, 3-4pm.

The event will focus on the vital role good nutrition plays in supporting the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of people living with dementia. As dementia can affect appetite, taste, swallowing, and the ability to recognise food, maintaining a balanced and enjoyable diet can become challenging without the right knowledge and support.

The talk delivered by Joseph Thananki, Clinical Nurse will explore practical ways to encourage healthy eating, adapt meals to individual needs, and create positive mealtime experiences. Joseph comments “attendees will gain insight into how proper nutrition can help maintain energy levels, support physical health, reduce the risk of weight loss and dehydration, and promote dignity and independence for those living with dementia”.

The session is open to family members, carers, professionals, and anyone in the community who would like to learn more about supporting people with dementia through good nutrition.

Bere Grove Care Home is committed to raising awareness and supporting inclusive, compassionate care within the community. This event forms part of the home’s ongoing work to share knowledge, encourage connection, and support those affected by dementia.
