Wetherspoons Whiteley: The Round Coppice pub ready for business - when is it opening?
A brand new Wetherspoons is gearing up to open its doors for the very first time.
Over the past few months, the old Jurassic Grill restaurant in Whiteley has been redeveloped into a new Wetherspoons pub, to the tune of £1.3m and creating 35 new jobs.
Photographs taken at the shopping centre by The News today show that the venue is ready to go, ahead of the grand opening next week. It has been named The Round Coppice, in honour of Whiteley’s historic farmland and coppices, used to collect timber and firewood.
Lucy Dempsey, who previously ran The Crown in West Street, Fareham, will be the new manager.
She said: “I and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into The Round Coppice and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the local social scene.”

The pub will officially open for business on Tuesday, April 7, and is the first one to open at the shopping centre itself.
Mia Gordon, centre director at Whiteley, added: “ Wetherspoon will be a fantastic addition to Whiteley, with The Round Coppice giving visitors even more choice when it comes to dining and socialising at the centre.”
