Objectives of the Growing Together campaign include enabling adults and children to develop together and teaching basic gardening and teamwork skills.

The collective team worked tirelessly by digging, clearing weeds and shrubs to allow existing fruit bushes and herbs to grow successfully while also painting the school’s raised beds. The group worked across both schools and managed to complete the task in a day.

Growing Together member Bill Briggs said: ‘The grounds were really overgrown and hard to dig over, but the V Team worked really hard and they achieved so much.

‘We are very grateful to them.’

Community First provides local voluntary and community groups with a variety of support services including volunteering, training and practical advice. The V Team assists with a wide range of local projects across Hampshire including garden makeovers and conservation work.
