Best coffee shops in the UK 2026: Two Portsmouth cafes nominated for prestigious award as Southsea Coffee and Broadway Coffee Roasters aim for top 100

Two Portsmouth cafes have been nominated for the top 100 coffee shops in the UK.

Southsea Coffee on Osborne Road and Broadway Coffee Roasters of Highland Road have been nominated for the prize with judges and a public vote set to whittle down the nominees. The two coffee shops announced the nominations on their social channels with news coming shortly after Broadway received the award for 2025 in February.

Judges for Best Coffee Shops UK will now assess the two cafes for their quality of coffee, ambience, innovation, sustainable practices, customer service and more. While the industry experts will make their picks, 30 per cent of the result also comes from a public vote with Broadway Coffee calling on Portsmouth to get behind the two local cafes.

Broadway Coffee opened in 2020 while Southsea Coffee is set to celebrate 13 years in business this year. In their time in Portsmouth, both have established reputations for serving fantastic coffee and become popular stop offs for coffee lovers.
