The Brass Monkey swings into Southsea as it officially opens its doors

Southsea welcomes new bar as The Brass Monkey officially opens.
Southsea has welcomed a stylish new hangout with the opening of The Brass Monkey, now occupying the well-known corner spot on Elm Grove that was formerly The Emporium. Under new ownership, the venue has been given a bright, contemporary makeover while retaining the relaxed charm that locals appreciate.
The Emporium closed suddenly back in the summer with little information as to why and when something new was going to replace it.
Inside, The Brass Monkey offers a clean, modern setting with a naturally chilled atmosphere. The refreshed layout features comfortable seating, warm lighting and a spacious feel that makes it an easy place to unwind, whether you are stopping in for a quiet drink or settling in for a night out with friends.

The bar has also become a new hub for games and social fun. With three pool tables and two interactive dart boards, guests have plenty of ways to enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry. It is an ideal spot for casual evenings, birthday meet-ups, after-work drinks or weekend plans.
The owners are focused on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone who steps through the door, sharing one clear message: ‘Everyone is welcome.’
With its fresh look, laid-back vibe and prime location on the corner of Elm Grove, The Brass Monkey is already carving out its place in Southsea’s vibrant social scene. It is a modern, inviting addition that feels perfectly at home in the community.
