'The time has come': Spanish tapas restaurant Casa La Siesta to close after a year
Southsea is bidding farewell to a tapas restaurant
Just over a year after opening and a Spanish tapas restaurant has announced it will close down, leaving customers disappointed.
Customers will only have a few days left to enjoy the authentic flavours of Spain at Casa La Siesta, which opened in Palmerston Road last July, after it confirmed it will close on Sunday, September 27.

The owners of the tapas venue jumped into action last summer to transform the site, which previously operated as vegan eatery, Mangosteen, into a welcoming restaurant that nods to its Spanish inspired menu.
In a social media post on Sunday, September 20, it said: “After many wonderful meals, celebrations and memories, the time has come for us to close our doors. Our final day will be 27th September, so if you’d like to enjoy your favourite Spanish flavours with us one more time, we’d love to see you.
“Thank you Southsea for being part of our journey.”
Customers have expressed their sadness at the closure, with multiple people saying they are “gutted” to lose another cherished venue.
Casa La Siesta will be open between 5pm and 10pm on Friday, and 12noon and 10pm on Saturday. For more information about the restaurant and its menu, click here.
