Sisters’ Dream Becomes Reality as Brew & Bites Opens in Stamshaw

STAMSHAW has welcomed a new addition to its community following the grand opening of Brew & Bites, a family-run café launched by sisters Darcie and Dollie Wall. Situated at the bustling corner of Walker Road and Twyford Avenue, the new venture enjoyed a roaring start on Monday 2 March, as locals, school-run parents, and dog walkers gathered to sample homemade treats and artisan coffee.

The business is a collaborative venture between sisters Darcie and Dollie Wall. It is a proudly family-run affair, with parents Louise and Stephen Wall supporting the duo every step of the way.

Ideally positioned at the corner of Walker Road and Twyford Avenue, the coffee shop is perfectly placed to serve a diverse range of regulars. It is already proving popular with dog walkers exploring the nearby Hilsea Lines, visitors to the Mountbatten Centre, and parents on the school run. It even offers a convenient pit-stop for customers waiting for services at R&L Tyres across the road.

On launch day, the sisters handed out tasters of brownies and sausage rolls, along with special treats for four-legged visitors, as crowds gathered to celebrate the new addition to the neighbourhood.

Darcie Wall shared her enthusiasm for the new venture:

"I am so excited to build this business and work alongside my sister. Our vision is finally coming to life, and we are going to love serving customers in this part of Portsmouth."

Dollie Wall added:

"We are both thrilled to welcome the community. With spring arriving, it feels like a fresh beginning. Working with my sister is great because there’s no awkwardness—we are so comfortable with each other. Teamwork really does make the dream work."

Their mother, Louise Wall, expressed her pride in her daughters' initiative:

"I am immensely proud of them both and excited to see their journey with Brew & Bites unfold."

Local feedback has been glowing from the outset. Samuel Mabe, a local parent and personal chef from Stamshaw, praised the new spot:

"The prices are fantastic; they have really hit the nail on the head. The location is ideal, I'm a local parent and this is right on the school run, so it’s perfect."

Another resident, Bea Thomas, added: "I have loved watching the progress of the shop. It looks so cute and it’s very close to home. I drink a lot of coffee, so I will definitely be a regular."

The transformation of the premises has been a talking point for neighbours, with one passer-by noting the "great spot" and wishing the family well. Even the sisters’ grandmother gave her seal of approval, describing the finished coffee shop simply as "beautiful."

Brew & Bites is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with variable weekend hours to suit local demand.
