"We are really happy to be back" - See inside the Christmas Shop at Cascades as the festive season begins

Kieley McKeowen has been running the Christmas Shop with her family for over a decade, helping Portsmouth families prepare for Christmas and getting them into the festive spirit.

Having taken up numerous units in the shopping centre, this year they have returned to Kingswell Path just a few doors up from last year’s location. The store sells a range of decorations and wrapping paper with Kieley saying they have “all the little bits and pieces you need for Christmas”.

With over a decade under their belt, they have seen the changing trends in decorations over the years with some familiar favourites back in stock this year.

Kieley said: “The Elf on the Shelf is always a massive one for us and that usually picks up at the end of November. This year we have a big selection of The Grinch products which has also been popular. We also have some other little trends like some K-Pop items.

“This year we have seen there has been more of a lean towards the 80s and 90s decorations with them coming back massively.”

The Christmas Shop will be open until Christmas Eve with the festive season starting to ramp up as Christmas lights turn on throughout the city.

Kieley said: “The reaction from people has been brilliant. We are in the swing of things now and really happy to be back in the shopping centre.”
