Sister store looks to emulate success of Ding Dong

A new women’s clothing store has opened in Portsmouth promising “exceptionally good value”.

Paloma sells a range of Italian clothing and accessories with the first customers welcomed into the shop on Thursday, July 2, It is the sister store of Ding Dong, a homeware shop which opened near the end of 2025.

Co-owners Carl Marodeen and Danny Elsom have now branched out with the new store opening in the former unit occupied by The Body Shop. The duo initially stocked some of the clothing in their original store before they realised the demand was there for the clothing to open a whole new store.

The store is open for six months as the business partners test the water to see how it goes. Speaking at the store, Carl is sure that customers will be delighted with what Paloma has to offer.

He said: “It is exceptionally good value and good quality clothes. We have a very nice, enthusiastic, positive and helpful team and we hope to get some repeat customers like we have had with Ding Dong.”
