Santander announce raft of bank closures with three Hampshire branches affected
Santander have announced that it is closing 44 banks across the UK with three branches in Hampshire affected.
The Spanish based bank revealed plans for the closures as it shifts its customers towards digital services. The news will come as a blow to Gosport High Street with its branch listed to close on May 5, 2026.

It is the second major bank to close in the high street in the space of a year with Halifax shutting its doors in March last year. That leaves Lloyds, HSBC, Wessex Community Bank, and Nationwide Building Society as the only physical banking hubs in the town.
Hampshire has two other branches included in the list of Santander closures with a bank in Ringwood closing on May 6 and a site in Andover closing on May 12.
It is believed that 291 workers are at risk of redundancy as result of the closures.
