Portsmouth supermarket to 'turn pink' to raise charity cash
STAFF at a Portsmouth supermarket will be hosting a charity fundraiser this weekend to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Crasswell Street’s Tesco superstore will be hosting the fundraiser and its staff will be completing a 5km walk.

Charity Research UK is a chosen charity for the supermarket chain, but this year it’s extra special for the Portsmouth store as two of its workers were recently diagnosed with cancer.
Staff member Maria Camilleri, from Fratton, said: ‘We’re going that extra mile this year for it as this cause is close to the Crasswell Street staff’s hearts. It’s personal this year.’
Following the news that the Race for Life will not be going ahead this year, staff members will be doing a 5km walk as part of the Race for Life At Home campaign.
Colleagues plan to walk around the outside of the store dressed in pink costumes such as crayons, Peppa Pig and cowgirls.

The store will be hosting a variety of activities including a tombola, lucky dip, guess how many sweets in the jar and more.
Maria said: ‘We’re going to turn the whole store pink.’
