Portsmouth nurseries pledge to serve only vegetarian or vegan meals to staff to reduce carbon footprint
A NURSERY has committed to only serving vegetarian or vegan meals to all its staff in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint.
Tops Day Nurseries across the Portsmouth area, including those in Copnor, Havant, Southsea and at Lakeside business park and Queen Alexandra Hospital, are already sustainability champions, having introduced initiatives and policies in support of changing behaviour to protect the environment.

Now, they have pledged to provide only vegetarian or vegan meals and snacks to all staff members, including drinks.
The milk provided for teas and coffees will be either oat or rice milk.
Cheryl Hadland, managing director of Tops Day Nurseries, said: ‘We want the children that we love and educate to have a chance at a healthy future and that means action now, by adults, to protect them from climate change.’
