New Portsmouth shop offers customers a chance to boost their wellbeing
A COUPLE from Portsmouth have set up their own business – selling fresh produce, wellbeing provisions and bringing a much-needed boost to the community.
The shop, JK Wellness, in Havant Road, Drayton has been set up by husband and wife duo Joe and Keshia Stewart, who say they are offering an alternative customer experience by focusing on the key elements of wellness and boosting community spirit.
Since taking the bold decision to open their studio and shop in October last year, Joe and Keshia have adapted to a continually uncertain situation, managing to maintain their core values, family, and wellbeing both physically and mentally. All the while, keeping spirits high and minds active in lockdown.

JK Wellness provides both one-to-one and family classes in yoga, mindfulness and meditation, as well as fitness training.
With more than 10 years experience as a personal trainer and nutritionist, Joe runs the sessions whilst Keshia runs the store and manages the timetables and bookings for the fitness studio.
‘She says she is the brains, and I am the body,’ said Joe.
The couple have their hands full with the management of their new store which has remained open during lockdown, selling fresh produce and wellbeing items such as self-help books.

They are also providing a selection of online wellbeing services to existing clients alongside their additional business in recruitment, TeachTech Solutions, which Keisha also directs.
The JK Wellness store stocks about 40 per cent of its handmade goods from local creatives.
Joe said they aim to create a space for the community of Drayton and Farlington and support local businesses, providing them with an outlet.

Keshia said: ‘It is a much-needed boost for those who have seen a big drop in income.’
Joe said he hoped to build a stable, locally run store that strives to support all aspects of customers wellbeing, emotional, physical, and social.
‘We hope to be able to advance our offerings post-pandemic and we have so many ideas bubbling away in the background,’ he said.
The couple look forward to welcoming back customers as lockdown restrictions ease and are eager to share their wellness vision with the rest of the community.
