'It's been a privilege': Coco's Coffee Shop to open as normal as owner confirms business is for sale

Customers have been assured business is operating as usual at a cafe as the owner announces she is looking to sell

Jackie Avis took to social media earlier this month to inform customers she is selling her business after years of being at the helm in order to retire.

Coco’s Coffee Shop wrote on Facebook, saying: “As I have now reached retirement age and a lifetime in catering has taken its toll on my health, it is time to find someone else to take ownership of the coffee shop.

“If you would like to find out more and would be interested in discussing what would be included in the sale then please call into the coffee shop or send an email to [email protected] to make an appointment to meet with Jackie Avis, current owner of Coco’s Coffee Shop.

“While I find a new owner for Coco’s, the coffee shop is NOT closing and we are open as usual to all our lovely customers.”

The coffee shop, which is part of the Chatty Cafe Scheme to prevent lonliness, is known for its community events including its meet and greets and book club.

The sale announcement comes after the owner was previously prevented from opening between 10am and 4pm on Sundays after submitting an application to Fareham Borough Council last year. The refusal was due to concerns from neighbours who were worried about the noise and smell which would arise if the cafe was permitted to extend its opening hours.

Coco’s has been contacted for more information.
