'This is a first': Indian tapas restaurant Havn opens at former Mist Lounge in Southsea
New tapas concept comes to Southsea
Authentic flavours of India have been brought to Southsea as a husband-and-wife duo launch a new tapas spot.
Opening at the former Mist Restaurant and Shisha Lounge in Fawcett Road, Havn launched at the start of this month under the ownership of Bejju and Chandu Asha who are no strangers to the hospitality industry.

With two existing businesses - Caffe Oak and Caffe Grey in Sussex - the pair said they had their hearts set on expanding their portfolio to the city.
Bejju Asha said: “We looked at other businesses and we found this place really exciting. This place is huge, our two other businesses aren’t this big so we really wanted to set something up here and we are really excited about it.
“We went around and we wanted to create something new here to stand out from the other businesses so we started an Indian tapas which is a first in Portsmouth. This is a big stepping stone for us.
“We’ve introduced the tapas so it comes in smaller portions so you can taste more food at an affordable price.”
Havn, which is open Wednesday to Monday, serves up full English breakfast options and Indian tapas from lunch time onwards.

The full menu consists of chicken pakora, grilled prawns, bombay wings, butter chicken, tarka dal, saag aloo and more including a range of desserts.
Since opening, Bejju explained how the menu is currently undergoing some tweaks in response to customer feedback to ensure visitors have the best experience possible .
She said: “We are adding items to the menu so we are making it more comfortable for the customers so they can choose easily.
“We are here so come and try us. I’m sure people will definitely love us because this is a new concept they can find nowhere in Portsmouth.”
