Hovertravel launches exclusive culinary experience with Robert Thompson’s RTCafé Grill
Hovertravel has teamed up with celebrated British chef Robert Thompson MBE and his popular RTCafé Grill, located at the Royal Maritime House in Ryde to launch a new combined travel and dining ticket — offering customers a memorable South Coast experience from start to finish.

The limited-time deal combines a hovercraft day return crossing with a two-course set lunch at RTCafé Grill, available Thursday to Saturday between 12–5pm, running from now until 31 March.
The offer is priced at £59 for adults and £56 for seniors, with the option to upgrade with snacks to share or desserts for a small supplement.
RTCafé Grill sits in an enviable spot overlooking the Solent and serves a modern, relaxed British and European menu inspired by the island’s produce and Chef Thompson’s own experiences. The restaurant’s all-day menu draws on classic grill and seasonal dishes with approachable, flavour-led cooking — from hearty main plates and grill favourites to lighter, beautifully composed starters.
Guests on the set lunch can look forward to a selection of thoughtfully crafted starters and mains showcasing quality British ingredients and inspired combinations, giving a true taste of the Isle of Wight’s culinary flair.
Optional snacks to share on offer include a range of bar favourites and small plates designed to be enjoyed together, while the dessert selection features indulgent sweet finishes to round off the meal.
