High hopes for former Rovers Fishing Tackle in Fareham as new ownership takes over - renaming it Tommy's Tackle
New ownership is making a splash at a fishing tackle shop which has recently been taken over after five decades.

The shop, which has been renamed Tommy’s Tackle, remained under the same management for 50 years before announcing new ownership would step in, with the previous owner wishing the trio the “best of luck”.
Rob, who is based in Leeds, said the business started as an online concept last May but significant growth prompted the three friends take on a new site near its headquarters in Southampton.
He said: “My business partners live 15 minutes away and already run Parker Baits. The three of us got together to start Tommy’s Tackle which started last year and it has just grown. We are now the world’s biggest tackle shop on TikTok which is quite a unique title to have, but we are really proud of it.
“Taking on the shop has been absolutely brilliant. The feedback has been great from the majority of people who are now seeing positive changes. We have got access to lots of different brands that Rovers didn’t have originally so we are really excited to bring fresh brands in.
“We didn’t really know what to expect. When a company changes name after 50 years, people can be hesitant towards it but I think keeping the staff has been really positive as they have so much knowledge.”
The shop has an extensive range of bait, fishing tackle, clothing, gifts and more featuring popular brands including Atomic Tackle, ESP and Fox.
