"We are thrilled" - Hendy Group partners with OMODA & JAECOO to open new dealership in Portsmouth
A first of its kind car dealership is set to open in Portsmouth as Hendy Group partners with “ambitious” carmaker to bring its products to the city.
The new dealership will be opening in September with OMODA & JAECOO cars on sale to drivers. The showroom will be taking over part of the existing Hendy Car & Van Store and Authorised Honda Repairs centre on Painter Close.
Hendy will house the full range of the carmaker’s UK electric, hybrid and combustion-engine vehicles, including the petrol OMODA 5, electric OMODA E5, super-hybrid OMODA 9 and premium JAECOO 7 available with a choice of powertrains.
Paul Hendy, chief executive at Hendy Group, commented: “We’ve been following the rapid growth of this ambitious brand closely as it cements its place in the UK market. OMODA & JAECOO offers one of the most comprehensive dealer networks of any new brand, and we are looking forward to being part of that growth and bringing its outstanding products to Portsmouth.”
As well as selling the brand’s cars, it will also provide repairs, services, maintenance and MOTs for all makes and models. The new dual-branded showroom has also created new job roles with details on the vacancies available on Hendy’s website.
Locals will be invited to a launch event where information will be provided on each available model as well as the opportunity to book in a test drive.

The Hendy Car & Van Store and Authorised Honda Repairs centre on Painter Close will continue to operate as usual.
