'Heavy hearts' as beauty and wellness store Alice and Ivy announces closure after five years

A business is closing down

After almost five years, an independent cosmetic and skincare business has announced it will be closing down next month.

Born out of a childhood dream, Alice and Ivy, in Marmion Road, is preparing to bid farewell to Southsea as it ceases trading on Friday, September 18 - almost five years to the day since its launch.

The skincare, cosmetic and wellness business, which sits next to Edith and Blanche, was opened by Zara who was inspired by a boutique store in her homeland of Northern Ireland. Over the years, Alice and Ivy has provided a range of luxury treatments including deluxe facials, makeup lessons, lash lift and tint and brow shaping.

Taking to Facebook on August 5, the owner said: “To our incredible community, it is with a heavy heart that we announce Alice and Ivy will be closing its doors. Running this business has been a dream, and we are so grateful for every smile, purchase, appointment and kind word. To thank you, all stock is now at least 20 per cent off storewide.

“We still have a few weeks left together, so please stop by, grab a final favourite item, and say goodbye. We will miss you all immensely.”

The post also said all gift vouchers must be used by the last day of trading.

Alice and Ivy has been contacted for more information.
