A new sweet shop has opened in Leigh Park after the young entrepreneurs experienced the demand while running stalls at local events.
Ethan Clark, 22, of Leigh Park, opened ET sweets on Park Parade with his husband Aaron three weeks ago. The couple run Binngs Bouncy Castles but after adding a sweet stall to their repertoire it sparked the idea to open a shop.
With the doors opening three weeks ago, Ethan has been delighted with the response from the community.
He said: “It has been really good, people have said this is something that the area really needed. We sell traditional English sweets including Scottish tablets, teacakes, cola cubes and everything you can think of. So far the most popular one has been the rhubarb and custard sweets.”
Alongside a range of sweets and chocolates, the store also stocks a range of toys and collectables with work underway to extend their services further. A new bar is currently being built at the back of the shop which when complete will serve a selection of desserts from waffles (including bubble waffles), soft scoop ice cream and milk shakes.
