Flowers will also be laid at the Workers Memorial in Victoria Park.

Chair of PTUC, Jon Woods, said: ‘We cannot allow a return to business as normal. Our health and social care systems were in crisis before coronavirus after years of austerity and privatisation.

‘As trade unionists we will have to resist the pressure from government and big business for an unsafe and rushed end to the lockdown.’
