Segensworth taxi-firm says it is 'ready' for customers with new protective measures introduced
A TAXI firm has said it’s ‘ready’ after introducing new safety measures as lockdown restrictions ease.
English Rose Collection, a family run private transfer company based in Segensworth that specialises in journeys to and from major transport hubs, has introduced new measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Jo East, director, said: ‘We have fitted polycarbonate protective screens to separate the front from the rear with passengers no longer able to sit in the front and can only sit in the back.
‘We advise customers to have face coverings and to load their own luggage onto the vehicle. The driver will open the door and boot.

‘Drivers will provide their own hand sanitiser with customers to provide their own, whilst wearing a mask for drivers will be a personal preference as it can impair driving.
‘All journeys are pre-booked with payment made before so there is no exchange of money. The vehicle is deep cleaned after every passenger and is well ventilated.
‘Customers are given instructions when booking the journey so know what to expect. All our clients have said they are very enthusiastic about following our advice.’
Ms East, who said drivers have undergone extra training during the pandemic, added: ‘We hope the measures we have taken will make sure our clients and drivers are safe.
‘Our main concern has been when will people be able to start travelling and how quickly will business pick up.
‘All our drivers are taking extra care to protect our clients and themselves.’
