Recap: Shops reopen with huge queues at Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays, Commercial Road and Cascades Shopping Centre

A raft of shops across the Portsmouth area reopened today for the first time since lockdown began.

The government has eased the restrictions on non-essential shops, including clothes and gift stores, which means they are free to serve customers from June 15.

With social distancing still in place businesses have had to quickly adapt to make sure they can open. Measures introduced include screens, markings on the floor to keep customers apart, and the wearing of face masks.

Many shops in our regions’ shopping centres, including Gunwharf Quays, Cascades, Commercial Road, Meridian Centre, West Quay and Fareham Shopping Centre opened for business this morning.
