Original Fleabag producer joins board of Havant arts venue The Spring
THE original producer of a stage show adapted into a popular BBC comedy-drama is returning to her roots to work her magic at an arts centre.
Francesca Moody has shot to fame as the stage producer of the multi-award winning and Olivier-nominated Fleabag, starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, which she has produced globally and most recently in London’s West End.
But prior to this claim to fame, Francesca worked as a producer for theatre company Paines Plough, where she made connections at The Spring in Havant.

Now, she is one of three new board members at the East Street arts centre, and will be developing an exciting programme of events for all ages in the community.
Francesca said: ‘I am thrilled to be joining the board at The Spring.
‘I have been a long-time fan of this wonderful venue that brings the very best arts to Hampshire's doorstep.
‘Now more than ever it feels important to support The Spring to ensure that this brilliant arts centre and museum can continue to play it's important role in the community.
‘I look forward to supporting them in their vision and helping them to grow audiences when the doors are able to open again.’
She will be joined at The Spring by Tom Spurgin, a specialist in community engagement, and artistic director Sarah Shepherd.
Tom, from Portsmouth, has previously worked with prestigious organisations including the Philharmonia Orchestra and aims to attract wider audiences to the arts and ensure that the work produced is diverse and representative of the local community.
Sarah, who lives in Gosport, has produced numerous award-winning shows for children and families. Her insight and expertise will allow the team at The Spring to create an inclusive programme that will introduce children to the benefits of the arts.
Director of The Spring, Sophie Fullerlove, has spoken highly of the new appointments.
She said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Francesca, Tom and Sarah to the team.
‘We’re committed to bringing the best that the arts have to offer to The Spring and we know that their considerable expertise and enthusiasm will be invaluable in helping us to curate programmes which will continue to attract audiences from across the region.’
