There were still 84 days - 12 weeks to go - but Christmas came early to one garden centre when Santa dropped by to cut the ribbon on its festive department.
Havant Garden Centre welcomed the man in red at 9am on Saturday to open its Christmas area.
He cut a ribbon, chatted to some shoppers, and then was whisked off - although perhaps not on a sleigh.
He said: “Why am I here today? Hopefully to make the kiddies and the elder parents be happy at Christmas. It is a happy time, and hopefully, everybody will get pleasure out of it.”
