The Watercress Line to welcome legendary locomotives at their Autumn Steam Gala

Iconic steam locomotives will be among the highlights when the popular Autumn Steam Gala returns to The Watercress Line in Hampshire, from 3 to 5 October.

Visitors can get up close to visiting locomotives 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and 34059 Sir Archibald Sinclair, alongside the heritage railway’s flagship 35005 Canadian Pacific, and their other home-fleet locomotives, during three exciting days.

There will be unlimited rides on these fabulous steam engines, running to an enhanced timetable, and the chance to stop off at their four heritage stations along the scenic 10-mile line.

The iconic locomotive 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will be joining the Gala line-up, on loan from the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust. Built in 1937, with the formation of British Railways in 1948, the locomotive secured its place in history as the post-war steam speed record holder, reaching 112mph.
