The Creative Social Market - artisan shopping from Southsea’s creative community

Portsmouth's thriving independent maker scene will take centre stage on Saturday 28 March, as The Creative Social Market returns to Southsea with a carefully curated line-up of local artisans, producers and creatives.
Taking place from 11am to 3pm at St Margaret’s Community Church in Highland Road, the market promises a relaxed, welcoming shopping experience where visitors can browse unique handmade goods, support small businesses and meet the talented people behind the products.
Showcasing the very best of the city's handmade scene, this spring edition of the market will feature a mix of local makers and producers. From organic produce, artisan bakery treats and skincare to handcrafted jewellery, mosaics and candles, the free event offers a chance to shop sustainably while supporting local creativity and entrepreneurship. Offering more of an experience than a hurried ‘dash to the shops’, this market will feature live music from local musicians and DJs, as well as refreshments from St Margaret’s Cafe. Market-goers are invited to stay a while and enjoy the atmosphere.
Kathryn Locke, Head of The Creative Social said: “The Creative Social Market creates a space where local makers can connect with the community in a meaningful, unhurried way. Every stall represents hours of passion, skill and creativity. By shopping here, visitors are not just buying something beautiful; they’re supporting real people and the independent spirit that makes Portsmouth so special.”

The market aims to provide an accessible, friendly alternative to high street shopping. Visitors can shop small, buy local and discover one-of-a-kind pieces made right on their doorstep.
