Spinnaker Chorus celebrates quartet success!

Award winning Spinnaker chorus celebrates with two of their quartets this weekend as they both come away from the Isle of Wight music festival with Silver and Bronze medals!
First Fourtuned Cookies Quartet, dressed in their brightly coloured jackets, entered the class 2156 Barbershop Group. Their performance of "Anthem" from the musical Chess - arranged by The Growing Girls & Ollie Nyman and, "Ain't No Mountain" arranged by Anne Raugh & Deke Sharon prompted the adjudicator to say "...voices fill this space with the most beautiful vocal sounds. We are taken to a new space and rest enjoying the moment. All are equal in this space where legato singing and joy exists forever". Audience members were also impressed with the great dynamics of these songs.
In the second class, 2160 Barbershop Quartet, the Cookies sang "Bandstand in Central Park" arranged by Nancy Bergman and, "This could be the start of something Big" arranged by Scott Kitzmiller. The adjudicator said: "Great fun was brought to this evening...as you took us on a wonderful musical journey".
In the same class A Pitch in Time Quartet sang "Don't Stop" arranged by Larry Wright and, "I never meant to fall in love" arrange by Joe Liles. The adjudicator said: "The fun and joy comes flowing from each singer. The voices blend well with never ending rhythmic elements. Word painting is rich and weaves its way throughout as you tell the story".

The cookies won a silver medal in both classes and the pitches won a bronze. Spinnaker chorus are immensely proud of these accomplishments, reflecting the hard work and talent of its members. This success not only highlights their dedication to the art of singing but also strengthens their contribution to our chorus.
