Kim’s 9 year journey to her dream target weight

For over nine years, Kim’s dream target weight felt just out of reach. Time and again, she’d make a fantastic start, only to fall into the same self-sabotage traps — the ones she couldn’t quite see, let alone break free from. Each setback chipped away at her confidence, leaving her wondering if she’d ever get there.

Then Kim met Sam Jones, an award-winning Slimming World Consultant whose passion and care went beyond the scales. Sam didn’t just offer encouragement — she listened. She took the time to understand Kim’s struggles, digging deeper until she uncovered the patterns holding her back.

Together, they built a personalised plan — one that didn’t just focus on food and activity, but tackled the why behind Kim’s choices. With Sam’s support, Kim learned to spot the early warning signs of self-sabotage and turn them into opportunities for success.

Week by week, her confidence grew. The weight came off steadily, but more importantly, Kim began to believe in herself again. And this year — after almost a decade of trying — she finally stepped on the scales and saw the magic words: TARGET MEMBER.

“I’ve lost weight before,” Kim says, “but this is the first time I’ve lost the battle in my head. Sam gave me the tools to change my life forever.”

Now, Kim is living proof that no matter how long it takes, with the right support, you can achieve your dreams.

Sam says “I am so proud of all her members and their journey but I am particularly proud of Kim for her determination and resilience to never give up and face some harsh truths but dig deep to find a better way”.

Kim attends Sam’s Slimming World group on Saturday morning at St Nicholas Church, Bedhampton at 7.30 but there is a choice of two later sessions at 9am and 10.30am. Sam also runs a Thursday evening group at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Leigh Park at 4pm, 5.30pm and 7pm.
