Café and choir combine in harmony

Repair Café Havant answered the call from Solent Male Voice Choir for help! SMVC is most grateful to RCH for the successful restoration of their ‘piano box’ which protects the SMVC instrument while in storage between their Tuesday evening rehearsals. This heavy box had come apart at the seams, as elderly things tend to do over time, but now it’s enjoying a new lease of life, complete with caster wheels to make it a lot easier to handle.
Repair Café Havant meets on the first Saturday of the month in the Pallant Centre, from 1000 to 1300, where their talented team provides an excellent service repairing all sorts, as their website says, ‘from toasters to torn hems’, as well as offering coffee and cake to keep people going. They depend on donations to cover costs, so please always be as generous as you can.
Solent Male Voice Choir also meets at the Pallant Centre, Havant - on Tuesdays throughout the year. Doors open at 1845 and the choir rehearses from 1915 to 2130 - new singers are always welcome to join their vibrant and varied rehearsals, with good-humoured camaraderie and, yes, coffee, tea and biscuits too – preparing for performances throughout the region and beyond.
This is a great example of mutual support between voluntary activities in Havant that could prove to be inspirational for all those who may be casting about for a new challenge, enriching the well-being of both the giver and the receiver. Do have a go!
